The Waterfall Hike
The Garden Route is renowned for its unforgettable hiking trails – each one a journey that renews the soul. But you don’t need to go far to experience one of its finest. Right here on Sanjika Farm, an enchanting forest hike awaits – one that winds through indigenous trees and leads to a hidden gem that feels like discovering a golden treasure: the waterfall.
This gentle trail begins at your doorstep and is clearly marked to guide you through the cool, mist-kissed embrace of the forest. As you walk beneath a cathedral of unspoiled canopies, the earthy scent, soft forest floor and nature’s vivid hues create a serene, meditative rhythm that breathes new clarity into your being.
A favourite among our guests, this hike offers more than just a walk – it’s a slow return to the essential. Moss-covered rocks invite mindful steps, forest pools reflect your stillness and if you’re lucky, you might glimpse a bushbuck or even a rare porcupine as you wander deeper into the wild.
The trail culminates in a natural sanctuary: a cascading waterfall framed by ancient rock and surrounded by copper-tinged pools, rich with mountain-filtered minerals. The striking colour is nature’s own signature – perfectly clean, incredibly nourishing, and ideal for a cold plunge that will awaken every sense.

So lace up a pair of comfortable shoes and surrender to an unhurried adventure. This is a journey of reconnection – to freedom, balance, and the quiet joy of simply being.
